Respite


They crush the enemy completely. Decimate them. It’ll be morning before more land, and Rage decides it’s safe to leave the city until then. They need to sleep.

The island’s warm and fragrant when they arrive, but they’re too tired for anything but tending wounds and slumber.

Later, JT wakes to velvet night and Rage inside him; hovering inches above the silvered sea. He smiles and lets his head fall back, hair trailing a dark and starry wake.

Constellations wheel and the earth spins toward tomorrow, but for now there’s only worship and sacred pleasure, only communion and green cathedrals.








Diversion


It’s JT’s idea to fuck inside the hurricane.

They drop into its eye, streak past whirling, grey-green clouds and splash down in an ocean, calm and blue.

The love-making is astonishing, and afterwards Rage floats docilely, allowing JT to strip him of his suit. It’s rare to see Rage naked in bright sunlight, and JT straddles him, lust quickening again.

“This tops Mars,” JT baits casually, anticipating Rage’s sure response (the Mars fuck had been Rage’s idea, after all). He’s rewarded by a single, rough tug. Salt stings his sex-bruised lips, and JT presses closer and closer to his punishment.
