During the past three years, I've had two hard drives crash, resulting in the loss of various fics in different stages of completion. This is one that escaped and was waiting for just the right prompt to come along.

I like to think of it as an allegory for their relationship; Brian will love him no matter what.

A million years ago, mclachlan had a birthday and I promised her a fic. At first, I was going to write her a Padfoot/Moony fic, but the beasts just wouldn't cooperate, and I was left drifting in the Grey Sea of No Ideas for a long time. Then, like a beacon in the night, I saw the 'movies' prompt over at qaf_drabbles and was all aha!

And because tectonic plates pass me in the left lane when I'm writing, I spurred myself to finish by writing to meet the deadline for the recent challenge at qaf_challenges and, thus, was able to fulfill two promises at one time.

As always, I've continued to tinker, so this version's the most current.
